Intacct is a very powerful cloud based accounting system, yet it’s not built specifically for you and your specific needs so it’s not perfect…out of the box. This is one area where Intacct really shines though. Almost every page you see in Intacct can be tailored to suit your specific needs! Not only can you edit the layouts of pages such as Journal Entries, but with a little bit of HTML and Javascript you can add related data and other modules.
An Example of Intacct Page Editor
Have you ever wondered how much you owe a vendor and what bills are due for that vendor? To find this information you would typically have to run a Vendor Aging Report to see the total owed for that vendor, and then filter the Bills list by the Vendor Name to see the bills for the vendor. What if we could see all of this detail by bringing up the Vendor details! This can be achieved by adding a new Tab to the Vendor Information view.
- In the screenshot below we’ve added a new tab named “Bills”. The tab has two sections “Vendor”, which has some vendor details including the Total Due, and “Bills”, which lists every bill for the selected vendor along with the due dates and amounts. You can view the bill details in a new window by simply clicking on the bill number.

So, while Intacct is not “perfect” for your specific needs straight out of the box, it certainly is close to perfect in its ability to “tweak” in order to get the specific results that you need.
